Welcome To My Journey
Hey You, I am Nienke, the creative behind “NIENKE”. I was born and raised in a small town called De Doorns. Little did I know that I will become a full-time wedding photographer, and I wouldn’t want it any other way as it truly makes me come alive. Wedding photography has served me not only as a form of expression, but a form of escape. It’s the only thing that frees me and grounds me all at once, really taking me to magical places and even more so when I get to capture moments of your beautiful life. I literally do it with a smile on my face.
I am a Cape Town based wedding- and lifestyle photographer. It is my job. It is my calling. It is my passion. AND I LOVE IT!

Rather than a profession, photography has always been a passion for me, a passion closer to an obsession. I see it as an art of observation, which has nothing to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them. I SHOOT WITH ALL OF MY HEART, and I aim to capture yours.
I am all about being real, passionate, pure, raw, authentic, present, vulnerable and human. With that said, I can ensure you that you will have a special and unforgettable experience as I mindfully capture every moment of your wedding day. I am very comfortable with people from all walks of life, I love people and working with them. Choosing your wedding photographer is a big deal, and it’s essential to feel comfortable with the person spending so much time with you on your wedding day. So if you are looking for a friend, who will go the extra mile and who is genuinely invested in capturing the sincere stories of all the significant moments and in-between emotions on your wedding day, then I’m your Girl.
I’ve been shooting weddings full-time since 2022, and I love this journey so much. Getting to document two people as they enter such a sacred covenant makes my world go round, and is such a massive privilege for me. I get a front seat to your wedding, yayyyyyy….Life and nature really gets new meaning when you are truly mindful and aware of every moment, big or small. My heart is to document your wedding in ways that you can barely put into words, as each wedding is like a whole new world to me and one of the most fulfilling spaces in which I find myself, over and over again.
When I am not at your wedding, I am probably editing (haha). Otherwise I love hanging out with my favourite adult in this world whom I call Husband. We love doing all of life together, that is crossfitting, cooking, sleeping, eating, chatting, coffee’ing, braai’ing, beer’ing, shopping, gardening, traveling, Netflix’ing, hanging, and spending quality time with our beautiful children. I am blessed with the best!
